Write clear, compelling, accurate stories for broadcast and linear content. Organize news stories in a logical, interesting pattern that keeps viewers engaged. Lead crew through live broadcasts in the control room, managing timing and smooth execution. Demonstrate strong writing, communication, and news judgment skills, understanding what makes good newscasts. React quickly during breaking news, accept feedback, and learn new techniques and technology. Show leadership and foster a teamwork and family mentality within the crew. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field required. Experience as a News Writer or News Producer in a medium to large market considered a major plus. Working knowledge of Metro Detroit’s history and geography considered a major plus.
