Location KTHV-TV Little Rock, Arkansas , the TEGNA CBS station in Little Rock, is looking for a highly skilled photojournalist who can create shareable and exciting content for television, social media, and mobile.
Ideal candidates are familiar with the latest photography and editing tools, can contribute both independently and as part of a team, and are proficient with live news‑gathering tools. They should be willing and able to operate a news‑gathering vehicle and participate in live on‑air and live streaming coverage when required.
Responsibilities
Capture video and audio elements that produce compelling news, sports, features, and documentary‑style stories under daily deadlines.
Operate an ENG truck or IP video‑based live unit (TVU) when assigned.
Work independently or in a team on daily news assignments.
Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas.
Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new media forms (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
Requirements
BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
1–3 years of experience in a newsroom environment preferred.
Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems.
Flexible schedule, reliable and dependable.
Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content‑driven live shots.
Member or active participant in NPPA a plus.
Demonstrated news judgment, writing skills, photography experience, and non‑linear editing skills.
Understanding of the tenants of professional journalism.
Knowledge of EDIUS or any non‑linear editing system preferred.
Organizational skills and ability to work under constant time‑pressure deadlines.
Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events.
Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodations.
Current driver’s license and ability to operate news‑gathering vehicle to and from various locations.
