Strategic Marketing Manager I/II, Rheumatology – West Region
AbbVie is seeking a Regional Marketing Manager to lead strategic marketing within the West Region (CA, NV, WA, CO, UT). The RMM will collaborate closely with multiple cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment of national and regional marketing initiatives with annual brand plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead projects through the promotional review process, delivering high‑quality work on schedule while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Manage strategy, execution, and budgeting for national and regional conventions, external expert consulting, advisory boards, and commercial peer‑to‑peer education programming.
Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of key marketing tactics and make strategic recommendations to leadership for brand optimization.
Provide in‑depth insights on brand business questions to guide marketing strategy, resource optimization, and tactic development that drives performance.
Partner with field leadership to optimize pull‑through of marketing strategies within assigned geographies.
Analyze competitive landscape, provider dynamics, and competitive intelligence to inform strategy.
Coordinate deliverables with external vendors and internal departments, including Agency Partners, Marketing, Market Research, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Office of Ethics and Compliance, and IT.
Thought Leader Engagement:
Build and strengthen relationships with external experts, emerging leaders, and relevant patient and professional associations.
Develop regional engagement plans and ensure consistent execution throughout the year to drive key marketing engagement.
Demonstrate deep understanding of internal and external drivers and collaborate with integrated brand teams on aligned objectives, compliant with industry standards.
Key Skills:
Mastery of verbal and non‑verbal communication and presentation skills, both live and virtual.
Experience working in collaborative, cross‑functional environments, influencing without direct authority.
Ability to navigate a matrix organization and impact decision‑making across functions.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting pharmaceutical products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
At least 2 years of experience in sales, sales management, or marketing within Rheumatology/Immunology (preferred).
Travel up to 60% of the time, including evenings and weekends.
Valid driver’s license; willing to use personal or company vehicle or powered equipment.
Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
Benefits:
Competitive pay range: $121,000 – $230,000 annually.
