Description WECT is looking for a driven, creative news producer who works well with a team of talented professionals to create compelling newscasts. Excellent news judgment, superb writing skills, and a knack for showcasing stories for the viewer are key. We're looking for a self‑starter who has creative writing skills and can handle deadlines while juggling planning, producing, and occasional digital responsibilities.
Duties / Responsibilities
Produce live newscasts daily
Select stories and determine story order
Write broadcast and digital scripts
Communicate with anchors, assignment desk, reporters, photographers, editors, and others to ensure execution of a high‑quality newscast
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
Experience as a producer preferred, but not required
Ability to work at a high level under tight deadlines
Scheduling flexibility
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent writing, showcasing, communication, and time management skills required
ENPS experience/knowledge preferred, but not required
