Job Description Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementing and directing the marketing activities to support the organization and achieve established sales objectives.

Establish and communicate marketing objectives

Plan, organize, direct and control the marketing team to meet defined objectives

Recruit and hire marketing team

Coach, counsel, advise and support the marketing sales team

Establish training programs for the organization’s sales representatives

Maintain a self-development program to improve marketing skills, managerial skills, business skills and product knowledge

Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy

Analysis of customer research, current market conditions and competitor information and communicate results to company leadership

Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services

Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing staff and oversee their daily activities

Own the development of marketing/promotional/advertising materials and activities

Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years of experience in sales management and directing a marketing team

Business or marketing-related degree or equivalent professional qualification

Experience in all aspects of developing and managing marketing strategies

Technical marketing skills

Proven experience in customer and market research

Experience with enterprise software solutions and large and complex organizations

Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy

Proven track record in managing and directing a highly skilled, motivated, and successful marketing team

Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements

Able to operate in a fast-paced and changing market environment

People management and leadership skills, including coaching, supervision, staffing, and conflict managemen t

Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

Knowledge and understanding of the utility industry

Understanding of the SDLC for information technology

Marketing experience in a consulting firm

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related field

Additional Information Approximately up to 25% travel required.
