Digital Marketing Specialist
to join our
Strategic Partnerships
team. The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for leading LifeWorks’ digital engagement strategy to increase awareness, drive online revenue, and strengthen donor and community relationships. This hands‑on role requires both strategic leadership and direct execution of digital campaigns, content, and analytics. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this role manages the customer journey across digital platforms—including email, website, and digital fundraising campaigns—to ensure LifeWorks delivers compelling and mission‑aligned experiences. The Digital Marketing Specialist plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s online presence, optimizing digital channels, and telling LifeWorks’ story in ways that inspire action and support. This position is accountable for meeting or exceeding defined online fundraising and digital revenue goals, working closely with department leadership to track performance and drive results.
Status:
Full time, exempt. Salary range: $73,982.31 – $80,846.65. Benefits include 24 PTO days per year (accrued), 11 paid holidays per year, premium‑free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options), retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and more.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that supports LifeWorks’ fundraising, brand, and engagement goals.
Manage LifeWorks’ email marketing program, including content creation, segmentation, automation, testing, and performance analysis.
Develop LifeWorks’ website content and functionality to ensure a user‑friendly experience that drives donations, engagement, and awareness.
Achieve defined digital fundraising goals and collaborate with department leadership to set, monitor, and optimize revenue and engagement performance.
Plan and execute online fundraising campaigns, including peer‑to‑peer, giving days, and recurring donor promotions.
Collaborate with Communications to ensure consistent, mission‑centered messaging across digital channels.
Monitor, optimize, and implement SEO/SEM strategies to increase visibility and traffic.
Track, analyze, and report on digital KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Develop digital advertising and paid media campaigns to broaden reach and drive engagement, including social media campaigns.
Ensure digital content reflects LifeWorks’ brand, voice, and commitment to equity and inclusivity.
Research emerging trends, tools, and best practices in digital engagement and recommend innovations that advance LifeWorks’ mission.
Work cross‑functionally to ensure integration of digital strategy with broader marketing, communications, and development efforts.
Own cross‑channel reporting and analytics dashboarding.
Draft and update digital channels rapidly when urgent.
Support digital advocacy campaigns in collaboration with Development/Programs.
Manage vendors and contractors as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in digital marketing, online fundraising, or related work, preferably in a nonprofit setting with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead capacity (managing campaigns, budgets, or junior staff); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or equivalent), website CMS (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar), and donor management/CRM systems.
Proven ability to balance strategic planning with day‑to‑day execution of digital marketing campaigns.
Strong knowledge of SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, and digital advertising platforms.
Experience designing and implementing customer journeys and automated campaigns.
Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform decisions and optimize performance.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Familiarity with graphic design, multimedia, or video editing tools.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, preferred intermediate level Excel skills.
