Responsibilities The Adjunct Instructor of Visual Communication is responsible for teaching courses in visual communications—including digital media production, graphic design, and social media—in the Department of Rhetoric & Communication Studies. The candidate will employ innovative modalities for delivering course content, maintain current knowledge and skills related to the fields of visual communication to update and enrich the Department curriculum, and represent the University and the Department professionally with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders. Teaching assignments are available each semester on an as‑needed basis.

Qualifications • Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree in visual arts, media arts communication, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. • Three (3) years of related research and work experience; portfolio of efforts as a working professional and/or practicing artist requested. • Expertise in industry‑standard computer software and digital design tools. • Preferred collegiate teaching experience. • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Commitment to the role of communications in a liberal arts setting.
