What You'll Do The Designer, New Concepts is responsible for the design process for all apparel products for the Wilson Sportswear brand. Working under the Design Director, New Concepts this role will support the brand’s creative vision coming to life within the concepts team.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the design and development of New Concepts Sportswear across categories (tops, jackets, sweaters, and bottoms).
Ability to pull conceptual imagery, product research, and design inspiration each season that supports the creative vision and maintains brand filters
Responsible for creating and maintaining all sketches, detail pages, BOMs, and tech packs
Responsible for maintaining VLPs (Visual Line Plan) and capturing changes throughout entire development lifecycle
Cross functional collaboration, such as leading design intent for fittings, reviewing color and strike‑offs, communicating fabric and trim approvals, managing pass‑off to tech partners
Responsible for managing and hitting all deadlines
Ability to work closely with other team members to help manage overall workload for the department, must be a team player
Organization, great with time management and attention to detail
Able to function in a fast‑paced work environment that is growing and evolving rapidly
What We're Looking For This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Design or a related area. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5+ years of strong experience in product design/development with expertise in garment construction, fabric, and prototyping new designs. Experience communicating with factories and across language barriers is a must.
Other qualifications include:
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated project management experience
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
Knowledge of apparel and engineering processes with strong technical and creative skills
Hands‑on experience creating tools and construction methods to assist in solving construction issues
Proficient in seamless, sweater knits and wash development is a plus
Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Illustrator, Gerber, Lectra or equivalent pattern software
What We'll Provide A reasonable estimate of the
pay range is $85,000 - $110,000 per year
at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job‑related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and do not include our competitive bonus program.
