Freelance Assistant Color and Print Designer
We are looking for an Assistant Print and Color Designer with apparel experience for a top fashion company in New York City. This hybrid position requires 3 days onsite in New York, NY.
Responsibilities
Work with the concept team to create print artwork that accurately reflects the desired aesthetic.
Redesign core print designs to meet the needs of specific garments.
Prepare production files for artwork that meet the expectations of our mills without sacrificing the aesthetic.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with cross‑functional partners.
Execute artwork, color and print, pitching and editing.
Produce CAD designs and explanatory visuals for vendors.
Own ongoing communication with vendors and other partners.
Manage the color and print database.
Analyze provided color, print and pattern direction; interpret and adapt for PC program proposals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience.
2–3 years of textile design experience.
Proficiency in the latest releases of Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and meet overlapping deadlines.
Team‑oriented and detail‑focused.
Experience working in a high‑volume, detail‑oriented studio or fashion company.
