Why this job matters As the Expediter, you're the heartbeat between the kitchen and the dining room! You'll help make sure every plate leaves the kitchen looking amazing and reaches our guests fast, fresh, and just the way it should be.

What you bring to the table

Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.

Act as the primary point of contact between the kitchen and waitstaff, relaying orders, dietary restrictions, and any issues to the appropriate teams.

Maintains par stock of food items in designated cooking areas.

Stores all products in accordance to Oregon Food safety regulations.

Preps and stocks all item necessary as needed throughout the shift.

Garnish, assemble, and finish plates, adding any last-minute accompaniments before they are delivered to the table.

Track and coordinate incoming orders and ensure they are cooked in the correct order and are ready for service at the same time.

Cooks items to order using grills, fryers, ovens, steam tables and any other specialized cooking equipment deemed necessary for food production.

Inspect each dish for accuracy, proper temperature, and presentation before it is sent to the customer, ensuring it meets the restaurant's high standards. Cleans all areas of the Plank house kitchen, but is directly responsible for keeping the work area clean during and after the shift.

Will act as steward when necessary.

Assist in Plank House hot line prep.

Preforms temperature and food transfer logs as assigned.

Recipe conversions.

Has an understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.

Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

Physical stuff to know You'll need to be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings when we are busy. In this role, you'll I be required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally sit. It's important to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure, especially when dealing with stressful situations or upset people. Just a heads-up-the casino environment may expose you to secondhand smoke.

Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.

One (1) year prior experience as a full-service line cook OR one year of formal culinary education; an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered

Must obtain a current Food Handler's Card.

Comfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.

Must pass and remain in compliance with background check and drug free work place policies.
