Overnight Newsroom Support Producer

Overview
Reporting to the Newsroom Manager, the Newsroom Support Producer is the eyes and ears of the K-LOVE Newsroom. This team member contributes to the news team in multiple ways including news desk duties, social media, and the producing & scheduling of local public affairs programming. This position works closely with the K-LOVE Public Affairs and Traffic teams.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum of 1‑2 years related experience in Broadcast Media.
Demonstrated successful project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, database management, and scheduling software.
Proficient with studio software applications including ProTools, Soundforge, TLC, Spot Depot, FTP.
Proficient with all newsroom-type broadcast equipment.
Acute attention to detail.
Collaborative & flexible style with strong service mentality; a team player.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to the social sector with passion for our mission and values.
Education
Bachelor’s degree, or combination of education/training with relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Monitor local K‑LOVE market news and determine when a Local News Breakaway is warranted, including researching, verifying, writing and voicing updates; alert News team leadership if a national crisis develops.
Collect, edit and produce interviews or news features for on‑air use or to post as podcasts on websites and social media.
Proactively manage portions of news web pages on K‑LOVE digital platforms, ensuring pages are updated and relevant.
Maintain the database of local Public Affairs programming and coordinate the scheduling of segments with the Public Affairs and Traffic teams.
Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet ministry core values.
Maintain effective working internal team relationships and with external support departments.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
