About The Role
At Lulu and Georgia, we’re inspired by thoughtful design, elevated materials, and the details that make a home feel personal. We’re looking for a seasoned Staff Textile, Rug, and Bed & Bath Designer to join our Product Development team and help shape the next generation of our core soft goods categories. In this role, you will lead design and development across pillows, throws, rugs, bath textiles, and top-of-bed product. You will work closely with our VP of Product Development through structured creative checkpoints, creating designs for approved concepts, refining design vision, and ensuring every collection reflects our brand’s distinct point of view. This position calls for a visionary designer who can balance beauty with functionality, create with intention, and drive innovation within the home space.
Responsibilities
Own the full design process for pillows, throws, some fabric, rugs, bath textiles, and top-of-bed collections
Develop seasonal concepts, color palettes, material stories, and pattern direction in deep collaboration with the VP of Product Development
Participate in ongoing creative checkpoints to ensure alignment on brand vision, innovation opportunities, and category strategy
Produce detailed design specifications, artwork, and technical packages for sampling and production
Partner closely with our PD team to bring new textiles, textures, constructions, and finishes to life
Conduct continuous trend and market research across interiors, fashion, and global textiles
Work with the VP of Product Development to identify emerging themes and translate them into elevated, trend-forward product concepts; ensure all designs support our broader brand direction, seasonal storytelling, and long-term innovation roadmap
Work closely with Sourcing and Production teams to ensure quality, materials, and construction meet brand standards and deliver a best-in-class product experience
Maintain ongoing communication with internal partners to ensure a cohesive vision from concept through final production
Guide all sample development rounds, ensuring aesthetic clarity, quality, and construction integrity
Provide actionable, detailed feedback to factories to ensure accuracy and brand alignment at every stage
Manage and mentor one freelance designer, offering clear creative direction, feedback, and workflow guidance
Ensure all supporting design work reflects Lulu and Georgia’s elevated design standards
Requirements
10+ years of experience in home textiles, soft goods, rug design, or fashion textiles
Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or related field preferred
A portfolio demonstrating mastery in pattern, color, materiality, and concept development; proven experience collaborating closely with leadership on high-level creative direction
Strong understanding of textile development, product timelines, and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
Experience managing or mentoring design talent, a plus
Must be available to work West Coast hours (LA-based schedule), regardless of location
