Description The Graphic Designer is responsible for developing visually compelling materials that strengthen the ForKids brand and support the organization’s outreach, fundraising, and advocacy goals. This role leads visual design for both print and digital channels and ensures brand consistency across all communications. The Graphic Designer supports digital initiatives through the creation of graphics, templates, and visual content in collaboration with the Digital Content Specialist, with guidance from Marketing & Communications Manager and Director.
Responsibilities Visual Design & Brand Stewardship
Create print and digital marketing materials including brochures, flyers, newsletters, signage, event collateral, and advertising.
Lead design for major organizational pieces such as the annual/impact report.
Develop and maintain branded templates for social media, email, and digital campaigns in coordination with the Digital Content Specialist.
Ensure consistency with brand guidelines and visual identity standards.
Contribute to the evolution of brand standards and visual identity.
Digital Design & Content Production
Design and produce graphics for social media, web pages, and digital campaigns.
Build and test HTML email templates, applying accessibility and responsive-design best practices.
Edit and retouch photos for print and digital use.
Maintain an organized digital asset library in SharePoint.
Photography
Help to capture photographs at events, activities, and programs.
Partner with the Digital Content Specialist to supply visuals for storytelling.
Edit photos for use across digital and print platforms.
Print & Production Management
Manage specifications, proofs, and quality control.
Maintain accurate, accessible design files and archives.
General Responsibilities
Produce materials for internal partners, sometimes on short deadlines.
Engage with volunteers, donors, and community partners as needed.
Uphold privacy and confidentiality standards.
Support Development and community engagement activities.
Customer Service
Provide service to internal and external customers according to standards as outlined in ForKids Customer CARE Manual.
Regularly engage, support and collaborate with volunteers to provide meaningful experience.
Financial Management
Use agency resources (financial and non-financial) prudently.
Acknowledge and follow financial policies of the agency.
Community Engagement
Participate in development and fundraising activities as needed and requested (ex. Meeting with donors, providing tours, attending fundraising events).
Qualifications Education and Experience Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications or related field with demonstrated experience in graphic design across print and digital environments. Experience creating content for digital channels preferred.
Essential Functions, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Strong understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and brand systems.
Ability to create designs for multiple platforms including print, email, and social media.
Photography and basic lighting knowledge.
Basic HTML/CSS familiarity.
Strong organizational and file-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s license with no more than three minor driving violations and/or accidents combined within the last three years, and no major moving violations in the past five years.
Ability to work hybrid and attend on-site events as required.
