Overview Our Fort Worth, Texas office is looking for a Civil Operator or Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our Development Services team!
Responsibilities
Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards
Develop technical drawings and plans
Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, including some multifaceted calculations
Perform day‑to‑day tasks with minimal supervision
Use engineering principles to suggest design changes
Maintain drawing database
Supervise and train CAD staff
Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
Develop familiarity with Kimley‑Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
Qualifications
8+ years of relevant experience
High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred)
Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings
Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products
Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills, and desire to learn
Ability to work independently and with a team
Willingness to mentor and teach others
Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self‑starter
