Seasonal EDU Content Marketing Coordinator
Job Purpose
SXSW is seeking a Seasonal Content Marketing Coordinator to support integrated marketing campaigns for the SXSW EDU Conference & Festival. This role plays a key part in the creative ideation, planning, scheduling, and execution across social media channels and the website. This seasonal position is a hands‑on role for someone highly organized, thrives in a deadline‑driven environment, and enjoys working behind the scenes to keep projects moving.
Duties & Responsibilities
Produce social-first digital content to increase growth and engagement on SXSW EDU social channels (Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok). This includes content capture, video editing, caption writing, and collaboration with other teams.
Support social-first video content ideas and optimize for the different platforms.
Keep up to date on innovative education industry trends to ensure SXSW EDU leverages trending online conversations to create better content and serve our audience.
Write and edit content in WordPress on the SXSW EDU website.
Support marketing campaigns and announcements across both the website and social media channels.
Review content calendars to ensure timely production and publication of assets leading up to and during the event.
Coordinate content marketing operations, collaborating with various teams across the company.
Track social media and website analytics to optimize campaign performance.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in marketing.
Self-starter with strong prioritization and organization skills.
Strong understanding of current digital marketing concepts, strategies, and best practices.
Enjoy brainstorming and creative writing with strategic direction.
Show strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Be comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in WordPress, Adobe Suite, Google Analytics, HTML coding, Mac iOS, and Hootsuite is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to lift to 10+ pounds occasionally, as needed.
Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
May require occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, or climbing stairs.
Ability to work outdoors, including exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Location & Schedule This position is full-time and located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. You must be available to work additional hours from January through March, including evenings and weekends. You must also be available for the March event, which will have extended on-site working hours. This is a full-time, seasonal position that runs from January 2026 through March 2026.
