Freelance Designer The Role: We’re seeking a Freelance Designer to collaborate with our team in leading and executing digital‑focused projects. This role is on an ongoing retainer basis and involves e‑commerce experiences, web/mobile apps, extending visual guidelines, and applying ecommerce best practices to all designs.
Key Responsibilities
Ideate and execute on creative concepts.
Create conceptual and practical designs that map back to the client’s business goals, audience, and vertical.
Maintain high standards among the team and ensure only the best work is shared with the client.
Confidently lead client meetings and workshops as requested.
Delegate tasks and provide support for junior members of the team.
Challenge clients on their requirements and advise on best practices.
Take and develop briefs from CD/ACD/account team into execution.
Contribute to and drive the process with both internal and client teams.
Provide scoping estimates for new and ongoing client work as requested.
Continually experiment with new tools and technologies and prototype with those existing. Encourage the same among the team.
Provide, and often lead, useful contributions to team meetings and conversations.
Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback during presentations and critiques of junior team members’ work.
Skills Required
At least 4+ years of agency experience preferred; product design experience is a bonus.
Solid knowledge of industry tools and understanding of designing intuitive and responsive user experiences.
Strong digital and web vocabulary; can speak confidently to clients about web platforms and design implementations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines while managing budgets and time.
Strong project management and organizational skills; confident communication with external teams and clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.

Account Manager At Barrel, the Account Manager (AM) is the connector between our clients and our team. You will manage the day‑to‑day relationship with assigned accounts, ensuring clients feel supported and projects stay on track. This includes responding to emails and Basecamp messages, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, writing recaps, and documenting next steps.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the day‑to‑day point of contact for assigned clients, responding quickly and clearly to emails and Basecamp messages.
Schedule and run client meetings, prepare agendas, take notes, and send recaps with documented next steps.
Ensure information flows smoothly between clients and internal teams by capturing feedback, assigning tasks, and tracking deliverables.
Support new client onboarding by setting clear expectations and aligning on Barrel’s processes.
Draft briefs, collect assets, and ensure client feedback is accurately documented for the team.
Collaborate with Project Managers to keep projects on track, on budget, and aligned with client goals.
Build strong client relationships and foster trust through responsiveness, clarity, and consistency.
Monitor project health and timelines, communicating proactively about risks or changes.
Learn and apply Barrel’s e‑commerce strategies, contributing insights and recommendations that help clients improve their websites, strengthen retention, and drive growth.

Strong written and verbal communication: Able to write clear, professional emails and recaps, and lead client conversations with confidence.
Working knowledge of Shopify: Familiarity with managing content, products, or apps in Shopify.
