Marketing Adjunct Instructor
Fox Valley Technical College is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to teach Marketing courses. Adjunct faculty are dynamic partners for both students and the College, working beyond the classroom to ensure student success, model core values, and demonstrate commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery.
Job Description Summary This adjunct instructor will teach specific open Marketing classes based on qualifications and availability, employing innovative instruction, technology, and assessment to meet evolving industry needs.
Essential Job Functions
Plan, develop, and implement appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery when appropriate.
Assist and advise students with assignments, tests, grades, course content, and career concerns.
Research, develop, and administer skills assessments before, during, and after courses, emphasizing evaluation of student performance.
Promote student success through timely communication, growth‑based feedback, and strategies that meet diverse learner needs.
Comply with college policies on testing record keeping, advanced standing, prompt grading, and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling.
Maintain professional currency and contribute to a collaborative culture across the College.
Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
Participate in staff development activities such as diversity awareness and technology training.
Demonstrate a commitment to the college’s mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications, Training, And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related and appropriate field (Associate Degree or equivalent may be considered).
Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, with at least one year within five years prior to hire (consideration for recent related experience may be waived with eligible teaching experience).
Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
Qualified per FVTC requirements at time of hire and throughout employment, meeting Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and other job‑specific licensing standards.
Additional Information Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour. Adjunct instructors are hired on a per‑course basis, with total hours ranging from 3 to 8 hours per week. Flexible schedules, remote work options, and professional development opportunities are available. Benefits include enrollment in the FICA Alternative Retirement Plan, use of campus facilities such as the onsite dental clinic, fitness center, and library, and access to wellness programs.
