Application Eligibility Current TEAMS2 Bargaining Unit employees will be given first consideration. A current probationary or permanent employee in the posted classification may apply for this transfer opportunity. All other PSUSD employees may also apply for this promotional opportunity if they have completed their probationary period in their current classification. To receive the password to submit your online transfer/promotional application, please call (760) 883‑2715, option 1 Classified HR – Abby or option 2 Certificated HR – Aylin. Completed online transfer applications are due no later than 3:30 PM on the indicated deadline date.
Required Documentation Applications will not be considered without the following documentation attached: (1) Proof of high school graduation (e.g., HS diploma, HS transcripts, or GED); (2) Completion of the TargetSketch Assessment, which must be completed before the application deadline; (3) District’s NCLB (English & Math) written exams. If you have previously passed one or both of the required exams, you must attach the exam results to your application.
Responsibilities Under the direction of the Principal/Special Education Department, assist assigned personnel in the supervision of students; assist certificated personnel in reinforcing instruction to individuals and/or small groups of students in an assigned classroom; implement intervention plans, behavior plans or learning strategies and goal strategies; work independently with identified students, administer and score assessments; and support instructional personnel in the preparation of instructional materials.
Minimum Qualifications Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college-level units in education; two years of experience assisting teachers in a classroom and with children in an educational or organized learning environment; one year of experience working with medically fragile or individuals with special needs in an educational and/or healthcare setting; CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire; passage of a physical exam for this classification is also required if coming from a different classification.
