Volunteer Role: Brand Designer (Dev Launchers)
Dev Launchers is a nonprofit organization focused on helping people from diverse communities get involved in the tech industry!
Overview We’re looking for a Brand Designer to help evolve and unify the visual identity of Dev Launchers—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the next generation of innovators through hands‑on experience in tech and design. In this role, you’ll translate our approved moodboards into a cohesive and scalable visual system using Dev Launchers’ existing logo, typography, and color palette. Your work will shape how our brand is perceived across all channels, bringing clarity, creativity, and consistency to our mission‑driven identity.
Responsibilities
Develop and apply Dev Launchers’ visual identity across digital and print assets
Create branded templates and materials (e.g., social media graphics, slide decks, etc.)
Ensure consistency and accessibility across all brand touchpoints
Collaborate with the Design Department and cross‑functional teams to align visuals with messaging and tone
Maintain an organized brand library in Figma
Iterate on visuals based on feedback from stakeholders
Attend our weekly design team meeting every Sunday from 11 00 a.m. – 12 00 p.m. CST
Participate in two rotating cross‑department collaboration sessions per month on Sundays
Additional collaboration times: Design × Research × Product 9 30 a.m. – 11 30 a.m. CST Design × Development × Product 1 00 p.m. – 2 00 p.m. CST
Skills & Experience
Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar)
Strong understanding of brand design, typography, and layout principles
Experience developing and maintaining cohesive brand systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preference for previous experience developing branding materials and guidelines
Time Commitment 5–10 hours per week, including participation in the weekly team meeting and rotational collaboration sessions.
Location Remote (collaboration via Discord, Figma, and online meetings)
