POSITION SUMMARY The Strategic Client Events & Regional Marketing Specialist (Charlotte) is a hands‑on, client‑facing role that integrates business development, marketing, and events strategy and execution for the firm's Charlotte office. Partnering with practice, industry, and office leadership, the Specialist executes high‑impact initiatives that elevate market visibility, deepen client engagement, and drive revenue opportunities. The role manages a high volume of client‑facing programs and events; manages and maintains Charlotte office collateral and other marketing content; tracks budget and ROI for assigned initiatives; and coordinates strategic follow‑up to convert engagement into opportunities. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Charlotte office OMP, other attorney stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams, as well as serve as a key liaison to the firm's centralized Marketing Communications, IT, Finance, and Operations teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning and Execution:

Work closely with the Charlotte Office Managing Partner (OMP) to develop and execute the office's strategic plan and objectives.

Support execution of office, practice, and industry strategic plans for the Charlotte market, aligning programming and marketing priorities with business goals.

Translate strategic objectives into actionable campaigns, events, and client touchpoints; prepare post‑initiative reports that analyze outcomes, learnings, and next steps.

Client Engagement and Events Leadership - Charlotte Office and East Coast:

Lead end‑to‑end logistics and execution for client events, seminars, receptions, hybrid programs, key client dinners, and signature Charlotte office events.

As a critical member of the firm's Strategic Client Events team, oversee site selection, vendor negotiations, food and beverage, AV, invitations, registration, responses, and day‑of coordination.

Working with the firm's Project Management Office, build and maintain registration sites for large‑scale events and develop event requirement sheets and summaries using firm systems, as needed.

Create post‑event ROI analyses and recommend optimizations.

Coordinate virtual events such as webinars, CLEs, or client briefings to drive dialogue with target clients and prospects.

Serve as the firm's Charlotte point for high‑visibility initiatives, including collaboration with Opportunity and Inclusion, Learning & Development, Pro Bono, and Alumni Relations on flagship programs and offsites.

Budget and ROI Management:

Track and reconcile Charlotte office sponsorship, ticketing, and event‑related expenses against budget, reviewing financial reports and correcting misclassifications.

Prepare regular expense versus budget updates; assess ROI for large expenditures, sponsorships, and conference participation; and flag renewal and pricing considerations with data‑driven recommendations.

Marketing Operations and Content:

Develop and maintain Charlotte office marketing content for the website, proposals, and marketing collateral.

In collaboration with Marketing Communications, promote Charlotte‑based speaking engagements, press coverage, and conference activities across digital channels.

Manage Charlotte office ticketing requests, as well as related relationships with external vendors and organizations.

Market and Office Support:

Coordinate market‑facing initiatives and office programs in Charlotte, including sponsorship activations, conference booths, and on‑/off‑site events.

Serve as a local resource for attorneys on business development best practices and event engagement.

Research and maintain intelligence on local venues, vendors, and hospitality partners to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective execution.

Data, Systems, and Reporting:

Working closely with the Charlotte office OMP, draft agendas, as well as develop and provide regular BD updates for recurring Charlotte attorney and partner meetings.

Produce post‑program and quarterly dashboards that report on activity, pipeline influence, and outcomes.

Identify opportunities to incorporate technology and other tools to add efficiencies in execution and delivery of work product.

Talent, Collaboration, and Service Delivery:

Model professional excellence and client focus in daily service delivery.

Collaborate effectively across teams and levels; mentor coordinators, where assigned.

Liaise with IT, Finance, Facilities, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of Charlotte initiatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required.

4+ years of business development, marketing, and/or events experience in a law firm or professional services environment required; hotel or conference services experience is a plus.

Must live within a commutable distance to the firm office with the ability to come into the office 3–4 days per week.

COMPETENCIES

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with CRM systems, content/experience databases, and event platforms; experience with Cvent, Nexl, or similar tools is preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑driven approach.

Significant strategic planning and event execution experience required.

Exceptional written and verbal communication, with strong editing and client‑facing presence.

Project management discipline, with the ability to prioritize, pivot, and deliver under pressure.

Relationship builder with credibility across levels and functions.

Collaborative and service‑oriented, including strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Analytical mindset with experience in budgeting and ROI analysis.

Professional presence suitable for representing the firm in Charlotte's client and industry settings.

Ability to work before/after normal business hours as needed; regular in‑office presence required for events and team collaboration.

Proactive, confident attitude and approach.
