Job Summary

This role is the marketing engine for Van Holten’s, supporting both B2B and B2C activity with most work centered on retailer, distributor, and partner needs. You will keep projects moving, support sales with effective tools, and manage the steady flow of packaging, product content, licensing, digital activity, and day-to-day marketing tasks that keep the brand running. It is a scrappy, hands‑on role for someone who works well independently while collaborating closely with sales and other teams.

Project Management and Workflow

Maintain the marketing calendar and keep projects organized

Turn leadership direction into clear briefs and timelines

Coordinate with internal teams and outside partners

Keep marketing files, images, sales collateral, and content systems organized

Track marketing activity, resources, and basic ROI

Build and update sales sheets, one‑pagers, and presentations

Use sales data and basic syndicated data to create simple selling stories

Provide sales with updated images, specs, and collateral

Draft product introductions, updates, and customer‑facing announcements

Draft simple press releases tied to launches or key customer news

Maintain tools for brokers, distributors, and key accounts

Keep product content accurate across customer and industry platforms

Join customer calls when needed to walk through basic product or brand information

Packaging and Product Content

Manage packaging updates from concept through approval

Coordinate artwork accuracy with operations, FSQA, and designers

Coordinate with operations on packaging inventory levels

Support legal, regulatory, and brand‑standard accuracy

Update product data and images across customer and industry platforms

Maintain product images and marketing assets

Maintain and update the company style guide

Licensing and Partnerships

Coordinate artwork, packaging, and claims with license partners

Track schedules, approvals, usage guidelines, and compliance

Maintain royalty files and licensing documentation

Support marketing collaborations with other CPG brands and retailers

Digital and E‑commerce

Support product listings and reporting with the e‑commerce partner

Post and schedule social content with consistent brand voice

Monitor engagement and escalated issues as needed

Support email campaigns, website updates, and digital marketing needs

Monitor online reviews and help strengthen online reputation

Coordinate digital campaigns with vendors

Stay current on digital and social trends

Trade Shows and Events

Assist with booth graphics, samples, and prep

Coordinate marketing materials for trade shows

Attend select shows and represent the company with sales

General Marketing Tasks

Maintain media, influencer, partner, and vendor contact lists

Monitor shared inboxes and route items appropriately

Support other marketing needs as they arise

Preferred Experience

3 to 5 years in marketing; CPG or food preferred

Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple projects

Experience supporting sales teams with tools and communication

Familiarity with product content needs for retailers and distributors

Experience with packaging, artwork, or agency coordination is a plus

Ability to turn sales data into simple selling stories

Strong written communication and editing skills

Comfortable operating as a one‑person marketing department

Skills and Tools

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Able to use Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools for simple graphics

Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT for drafting and refining content

Familiar with social media and brand presence best practices

Able to support website and email updates using user‑friendly tools

Comfortable updating product data and images on retailer and distributor platforms

Strong organizational skills including file management and workflow management

Detail oriented across copy, layouts, images, and product information

Work Schedule and Conditions

Monday to Friday with regular in‑office time in Waterloo and optional three‑in, two‑remote hybrid flexibility.

Travel up to 10 percent for trade shows or marketing‑related needs

Light physical activity such as moving samples and booth materials

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is $80,000–$90,000, with eligibility for an annual bonus tied to company and individual performance.
