Altium PCB Designer
Location:
McLeansville, NC
Pay Rate:
$55.01/hour
CPI is seeking an
Altium PCB Designer
to support
CCA development for high-reliability undersea communication systems . This role focuses on PCB layout, library management, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in a mission-critical defense environment. Ideal candidates bring strong Altium experience and are comfortable working closely with engineering teams to support complex, high-reliability electronics.
Preferred candidates are able to work
onsite in McLeansville, NC three or more days per week .
Key Responsibilities
Support circuit card assembly (CCA) development for electronics used in undersea communication systems.
Perform PCB layout design using
Altium Designer .
Support schematic capture and layout activities in Altium and Xpedition environments.
Create and maintain component libraries, symbols, and footprints.
Generate and manage design documentation including
BOMs, ODB++ fabrication packages, and 3D models .
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
Communicate with suppliers to clarify design documentation and fabrication requirements as needed.
Support hands-on prototyping and circuit design efforts.
What Sets You Apart
4+ years of experience using Altium for PCB design .
Experience with
Altium Designer 27
or Altium IPC footprint and schematic generators.
Experience with library management practices in
Altium or Xpedition .
Knowledge of PCB layout tools from the
Mentor Graphics suite
(xDM, Xpedition, DXdatabook, BoardStation, Hyperlynx).
Experience with schematic capture in
Altium and Xpedition .
3D modeling experience using
SolidWorks, NX, or CREO .
Experience using
Footprint Expert .
Basic knowledge of
IPC and manufacturing standards .
In-depth knowledge of
CCA fabrication techniques .
Basic Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent
plus
7+ years of relevant experience .
U.S. citizenship required
due to the nature of the work.
Clearance Requirements
Department of Defense Secret security clearance preferred
or obtainable within a reasonable period after hire.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
