Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr
Success Profile The Senior Technical Designer for wovens, suits and ready‑to‑wear is responsible for ensuring that design vision is translated into a well‑constructed and manufacturable garment that reflects the brand’s esthetics and design integrity. As a member of the Technical Design team, you will conduct fit sessions, communicate fit session results to vendors, G‑III global offices and work cross‑functionally to ensure accuracy of garment measurements, fit, construction details and flow of information while addressing any technical challenges during the development and production process.
Location (On‑Site) New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District
Key Accountabilities
Manage product lifecycle from showroom sample through pre‑production fit approval.
Oversee pre‑production sample development, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Develop comprehensive technical packages to final full graded specifications; determine necessary corrections and utilize garment patterns effectively to achieve the desired fit, silhouette, and style.
Lead live fit sessions to evaluate and refine fit, construction, and quality; execute fit comments in a timely manner to keep the fit process aligned with production timelines and objectives; provide grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval and ensure grading preserves design and fit integrity across all sizes.
Partner with Product Development, Design and Production teams to keep fit and product development processes aligned with production and action timelines; create and manage WIP reports for development tracking and garment delivery.
Education and Experience
7+ years of technical design experience.
College degree or equivalent professional work experience (required).
Skills and Behaviors
Proven expertise in apparel fitting, specs and patterns.
Working knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Strong project management and multi‑tasking skills with critical attention to detail.
Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills.
Motivation to work in a high‑energy environment at the speed of fashion with ever‑changing priorities.
Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments, vendors and overseas offices.
The pay range for this position is: $90,000 per year - $115,000 per year.
