Realta Fusion Inc
Join Realta Fusion as a Fusion Facilities Designer and play a key role in shaping the infrastructure behind next-generation fusion research. The Fusion FacilitiesDesignerwill create detailed technical drawings and layouts forRealta'sfusion research facilities and pilot plant infrastructure. This role supports the design and construction of specializedfacilitieshousing fusion devices, including process piping systems, equipment layouts, utility distribution, and building infrastructure. You will work closely with facilities engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers to translate design concepts intoaccurate, construction-ready drawings. The ideal candidate has strong CAD skills, understanding of industrial facilities and piping systems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail directlyimpactsconstruction quality and project timelines.
Realta Fusion is a rapidly growing start-up developing compact magnetic mirror fusion energy systems to address the biggest challenge of our time – tackling global climate change while ensuring a sufficient energy supply for at least ten billion people on (and off) earth. We are building a team with diverse talents dedicated to making fusion energy a real solution to humanity’s most pressing problem.
Key Responsibilities Technical Drafting & Documentation
Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings for process piping systems, equipment layouts, and facility infrastructure
Develop piping isometric drawings, P&IDs, and equipment arrangement drawings for fusion facilities
Produce architectural and structural drawings for research buildings and pilot plant facilities
Generate utility distribution drawings including electrical, HVAC, compressed gases, and cooling water systems
Create as-built drawings documenting field changes and final configurations
Maintain drawing revision control and ensure compliance with company standards
Design Support & Coordination
Support facilities engineers in developing equipment layouts and space planning for fusion devices
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines to resolve interface conflicts
Review vendor drawings and equipment submittals for dimensional accuracy and integration
Assistin clash detection and 3D coordination using BIM/modeling tools
Participate in design reviews and provide input on constructability and layout optimization
Project Execution
Work from engineering sketches, markups, and verbal instructions to produce final drawings
Meet project deadlines and deliverable schedules for construction and procurement packages
Incorporate engineering change orders and field modifications into drawing sets
Supportpermittingsubmittals with required drawings and documentation
Coordinate with external architects, engineers, and contractors on drawing requirements
Standards & Quality
Follow applicable codes and standards for piping, pressure vessels, and industrial facilities (ASME B31.3, ANSI, AWS)
Ensure drawings meet industry standards for clarity, accuracy, and completeness
Maintain organized file structures and CAD libraries for reusability
Support development of company drafting standards and templates
