From designing resilient highways and bridges to advancing transit, rail, aviation, and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainability, and quality of life.
Primary Responsibilities The Traffic EIT/Designer will work as a member of the traffic engineering design team on projects serving clients in the New England area. The position includes preparation of plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimation for projects of various sizes and complexity. The Traffic Department engages in several areas of design including traffic modeling, traffic studies and report preparation, traffic impact studies, capacity analyses, and the preparation of signal design and traffic control plans for clients throughout New England, including MassDOT, MBTA, NHDOT, RIDOT, and the City of Boston. The candidate will need to be a self‑motivated individual who maintains a high level of professionalism while performing engineering assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
Familiarity with Synchro, SimTraffic, and Vissim
Candidates with at least one prior internship in the AE industry preferred
Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Strong verbal and written skills
Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
