Job Summary Reserve, schedule distribute, maintain, repair, and install college audio/visual equipment, peripherals, and related departmental systems at Tier I & II Level throughout the institution. Configure, install, and demonstrate operation of departmental and classroom technology, including but not limited to instructor workstations, document cameras, data projectors, flat panel displays, sound reinforcement systems, and digital presentation systems. Support integration of technology into instruction through in‑classroom troubleshooting and customer service. Perform all work with strong attention to detail, and consistent quality.

Essential Responsibilities

Provide Tier I & Tier II trouble call support, including ad hoc user instruction and equipment hotswap.

Provide direct support to campus wide hardware integration projects.

Provide direct support to campus wide firmware revision, and control system update projects.

Provide direct support to campus wide inventory projects.

Receive and process requests to determine client needs, make informed recommendations for appropriate equipment, and accurately enter reservations to the AV computer database.

Process, track, and deliver equipment and services to college Faculty, Staff, and spaces as appropriate.

Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electronic and mechanical problems with audio, video, and multimedia projection equipment, maintain records of such activities.

Instruct and interact with patrons on correct operation of AV equipment, control systems, presentation software, data projectors and other peripherals; diagnosing and solving problems as required.

Complete ongoing industry‑standard professional development and secure appropriate certifications, including AVIXA Certification – Basics of AV within the first 120 days of employment.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School or equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant background or education in instructional technology, audio‑visual systems, or multimedia systems.

Ability to communicate and interact effectively with clientele of varying technical ability to determine needs and resolve AV equipment related problems.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Regular attendance is a requirement of this job.

Physical Demands

Occasional heavy lifting.

Climbing onto ladders.

Occasional travel to other HCC sites.

Exposure to fumes and chemicals used in repair and cleaning and soldering tools.

Close contact with 110‑volt electrical devices and high temperature components.

Occasional schedule modifications required.
