Communication Strategist (Water Business Group)

Our Water Business Group focuses on delivering safe drinking water, responsible wastewater treatment, sustainable water supplies, and flood-control initiatives to support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience. In the role of Communications Strategist, we’ll count on you to: Develop content marketing strategies and communications plans for specific initiatives and projects to elevate thought leadership, people and project work Lead global and local communications strategies by collaborating with internal business partners, creative, marketing and communications teams Assist in the development and management of an editorial calendar Work with subject matter experts to develop and write white papers, feature article content, thought leadership articles, and/or social media posts Ghost write and edit blogs, social media posts, papers and/or presentations by subject matter experts Help develop collateral pieces and other marketing campaign materials Research, write and edit project narratives and case studies Monitor industry best practices and maintain a repository of trends and examples Support event management where required Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table Perform other duties as needed Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years experience in a communications field of expertise: social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, public involvement, etc Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with multiple teams as well as in a team environment Great interpersonal and communication skills with a positive attitude High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues Commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture Comfortable working with senior leaders and managing cross-functional efforts Ability to operate strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a closely related field Previous consulting and/or creative agency experience What We Believe
