Energy Program Manager – Design Build
Dewberry Design‑Builders Inc. is seeking a senior leader for our energy sector design‑build practice. The Program Manager will be responsible for growing and managing our energy design‑build programs in the Mid‑Atlantic and Carolinas. Projects include design and construction of a wide variety of energy projects, focusing on facilities improvements, site‑civil and security barrier projects, and smaller on‑site generation projects (solar, gas turbine generators, microgrids, etc.). The selected candidate will act as Program Manager for complex projects requiring seasoned management skills, mobilize, energize, and organize cross‑functional teams to win and deliver complex contracts.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue and profit margin growth.
Develop and manage project construction estimates, project financial metrics and schedules for our energy projects.
Serve as a segment lead for our design‑build and construction energy utility client projects.
Work with Dewberry’s HSE leadership to manage safety across our energy sector projects.
Program manage design‑build and construction of various projects associated with energy facilities.
Achieve schedule and budget objectives.
Mobilize, energize, and organize cross‑functional teams for success.
Collaborate proactively and productively with other group and company offices across the Dewberry energy teams.
Review and manage prime contracts and subcontract terms and strategies.
Required Skills & Experience
BS in construction management or engineering (preferred).
10–15 years of relevant experience directly related to design‑build or construction of energy facility projects.
Deep knowledge of the energy utility market.
Solid understanding of alternative delivery design‑build contracting alternatives.
Proven expertise in managing and motivating high‑performing teams, including maintaining solid subcontract construction partner relationships in the energy market sector.
Excellent strategic development, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated project management success for projects for private and public utility clients.
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (local travel required).
