Job Summary
Our client in Burbank, CA is looking for a Design Drafter. This is a contract position focused on aerospace pneumatic ducting, fuel and oil lines, bracketry. The role involves preparing 3D models and drawings using Catia V5 R21 to R32, performing design checks, coordinating designs with project and manufacturing engineers, and creating assemblies and drawings for test procedures.
Responsibilities
Prepare 3D models and drawings using Catia V5 R21 to R32.
Perform design checks and coordinate designs with project and manufacturing engineers.
Create complex and simple detail, sub‑assembly, and top assembly drawings.
Write engineering orders and make changes to existing drawings.
Design test procedures and create assemblies and drawings for them.
Perform weight calculations (hand or Catia V5).
Perform design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters.
Perform tolerance stack‑ups and interference checks (preferred).
Develop assembly BOMs.
Qualifications
Knowledgeable of Catia V5 as it relates to company design needs.
Expert level in creating sketch‑based solids and geometric surfacing in Catia V5.
Strong understanding of GD&T practices per ASME and ANSI standards.
Manufacturing knowledge in machining of metallic components and sheet metal forming.
Knowledge of Catia FTA workbench and MBD and its applications in the aerospace engineering environment.
Knowledge of ACS and ability to design components using ACS or local coordinates.
Experience with PLM software (Enovia) and configuration management practices.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
100% onsite.
Salary: $35‑$50/hr.
