Job Title: Civil Designer I
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Bowman has an opportunity for a Civil Designer I to join our team in Las Vegas, NV.
Purpose
Responsible for the design phases related to projects for the land development industry. Design work includes site, grading, utility, on-site and municipal wastewater systems, storm water systems, road work, flood studies/mitigation, and state and local permitting. Responsibilities
Perform work under direct supervision and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. Work closely with more senior staff members to learn and assist in design work. Transform initial sketches and rough product designs into working documents using CAD. Utilize design tools, networks, tool palettes, and templates in Civil 3D (2018) to complete design work. Assist in developing and reviewing completed civil engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Assist senior level staff or management with clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams on moderately complex project issues. Work closely with project manager to determine if scope of work or budgets need to be revised. Success Metrics and Competencies

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required. Associate’s degree preferred. Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any drafting and engineering technician experience in the land development industry a plus. Experience with computer applications and civil engineering design software such as Civil3D, Bentley Systems and familiarity with reading construction plans. Design experience to include proficiency in creating and working with TINS and 3D surfaces along with grading, drainage, water, sewer and roadway plans and procedures. Benefits
