Plumbing Designer

YOUR ROLE AT CNG ENGINEERING As a Plumbing Designer, you will support the design and documentation of plumbing systems for a wide range of building types. You will work closely with senior engineering staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet project requirements, adhere to codes and standards, and support high‑quality project delivery from concept through construction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Lead with Excellence

Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, lab/medical gas, vacuum, specialized waste systems, and performance‑spec fire protection for commercial and institutional facilities.

Perform calculations such as pressure loss, pump head, roof drainage, fixture units, water heater sizing, and other analyses required to support system design.

Prepare clear, accurate construction documents in accordance with CNG standards and project specifications.

Collaborate as a Team

Coordinate design efforts with multidisciplinary engineering teams and follow direction from senior staff.

Work with project managers to support project schedules, deliverables, and budget requirements.

Attend design meetings and contribute to coordinated project development.

Manage multiple tasks and project assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Adapt to evolving project needs and technical requirements with a solutions‑oriented approach.

Deliver with Integrity

Assist with construction site visits and field surveys to verify code compliance, construction progress, and as‑built conditions.

Prepare meeting minutes, site observation reports, and other documentation as required.

Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, and change order evaluations (as applicable).

QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) preferred

4+ years

of plumbing design experience in municipal/aviation, education, healthcare, or commercial office sectors

Proficiency in preparing construction documents, including plans, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates (preferred)

Experience with construction administration tasks such as RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and change order reviews (preferred)

Working knowledge of building and plumbing codes, including NFPA standards

Familiarity with plumbing fixtures and equipment from various manufacturers and the ability to make appropriate selections independently
