The incumbent technologies are decades old, and drivers and fleets increasingly demand modern digital experiences and affordable and transparent financial services products. Coast’s mission is to deliver them at a transformational scale, beginning with the Coast Fleet and Fuel Card built on a cutting‑edge spend management platform.
The Senior Product Designer will own the design of a modern payments platform targeting small to medium sized businesses. You’ll work with PMs, designers, and engineers who are thoughtful, friendly, and experienced. In this role, you will work directly with stakeholders, make decisions quickly, and create designs that have a high degree of impact on the company’s growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
Play a critical role in bringing design thinking and a user‑centric perspective to the product development process
Lead design projects of significant complexity and scope
Collaborate closely with product and engineering to bring features from ideation to implementation
Communicate design decisions and thinking clearly, and help build consensus among stakeholders
Get close to our users by conducting user research, developing personas, and validating designs through usability testing
Become deeply knowledgeable about the product roadmap and user workflows
Find opportunities to iterate on and constantly improve the existing product
What We’re Looking For
4+ years of experience, ideally at a B2B company or startup
Expertise in wireframing, prototyping, and Figma
Experience with maintaining and contributing to design systems
Portfolio that demonstrates user‑focused thinking to create prototypes and high‑fidelity designs
Demonstrated ability to understand a product at a deep level and to drive/participate in user research
Ability to balance the need for a beautiful, delightful interface with the pragmatic concerns of delivery
The ability to work independently with little oversight in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with high‑energy, mission‑driven colleagues
Good organization, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and design principles
Nice to Haves
Fintech experience (a plus, but not required)
Familiarity with Adobe CC
Compensation Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total compensation package that also includes benefits, signing bonus, and equity. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Coast employees.
Salary range: $170,000 – $190,000
Signing bonus
Equity grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company, with meaningful potential upside given the company’s early stage
