Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Key Responsibilities

Provides on‑site technical support for college events utilizing audio‑visual systems.

Works with the supervisor and Events team to ensure adequate AV and IT coverage for scheduled events.

Performs AV setup, operation, troubleshooting, video streaming, and recording for events and meetings.

Provides technical support for AV systems as directed by the supervisor.

Responds to classroom AV support needs and escalated AV‑related IT support tickets.

Assists with the creation and delivery of AV training for faculty and staff, as assigned.

Performs routine and preventive maintenance on classroom and campus AV systems, including complete system checks, cleaning of projector filters, and software/firmware updates.

Tests, patches, upgrades, and maintains AV spaces to ensure operational readiness.

Performs AV installations managed internally, including TV and monitor mounting, projector installation, cabling and equipment mounting, and basic AV system programming and configuration.

Assists with AV‑related projects and new installations under the direction of the supervisor.

Provides basic IT support functions as directed by the supervisor, including assistance with hardware, software, or peripheral devices.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including assistance during emergency declarations by the Governor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Working knowledge of the installation, repair, upgrade, and general maintenance of audio‑visual systems and computer hardware.

Considerable knowledge of troubleshooting methods and procedures and the use of hardware and software diagnostic tools.

Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP.

Working knowledge of audio‑visual systems and end‑user support.

Understanding of current Windows operating systems and Microsoft products.

Ability to provide efficient and effective customer service through clear written and verbal communication.

Demonstrated physical ability to climb ladders and routinely lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience providing customer support.

Demonstrated experience in general computing support and/or audio‑visual support.

An equivalent combination of training and experience that demonstrates possession of the required KSAs may substitute for formal education.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Training or coursework in computer information systems, audio‑visual systems, or related technical areas.

Computing and/or audio‑visual certifications.

Experience installing and supporting AV equipment and devices in a networked environment.

Experience supporting AV systems in instructional or event‑based environments.
