Job Description Board Certified Polysomnographic Technologists work under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in-center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. Including Polysomnograms, Split- PSG/CPAP studies, CPAP titration studies, Bi-pap, ambulatory studies to include reflecting sympathetic nervous system activation, wake/sleep detection, REM/Deep/Light sleep stages (true sleep time), monitoring body position as well as snoring. Technologists will accurately monitor Apnea/Hypopnea index, Oxygen desaturation and Respiratory index and provide the highest level of patient care with direct emergent intervention as needed.

Education Minimum AS or R. PSG T. in Sleep Diagnostics with Board Registration required

Experience Previous lifeguard experience preferred

Certification & Licensures Board Certification and VA licensure required

RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist- BRPT) required

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ˜Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required*

Must be Board Certified holding credentials in sleep as well as maintain licensure when providing direct patient care during diagnostic studies.

New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications Extensive knowledge in Respiratory and Neurodiagnostics as it relates to sleep staging

Ability to orient and train technologists, and affiliate students required

Ability to conduct in-services and provide technical assistance required

Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions required

Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required
