Position Overview Lee University School of Music is looking for a highly-skilled professor for its Music and Worship degree program. We invite applicants with a terminal degree in church music, or a related degree, or commensurate experience. This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Qualifications Lee’s B.M. in Music and Worship prepares students who are called to pursue music ministry as a vocational career, usually in the local church. Candidates should have the following: (1) a track record of effective work in music ministry, (2) passion for developing students’ skills and understanding of music and worship as a ministry, and (3) a strong appreciation and understanding of the Biblical, theological, historical, and pastoral role of music in the church. Teaching credentials and skills in other areas taught in the school of music (voice, theory, etc.) would be an asset as well.

Lee University faculty candidates are expected to demonstrate the following: a strong Christian commitment, compatibility with the university’s lifestyle covenant, teaching ability at the college level, a willingness to mentor students academically and professionally, teamwork with colleagues and the University mission, and an understanding of integrating Christian faith into academic studies.
