Job Description We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Director, Marketing. The ideal candidate will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives that elevate the brand, deepen stakeholder engagement, and drive revenue growth. This role is responsible for crafting and implementing integrated marketing strategies that align with the Foundation’s mission to improve financial well‑being with and through credit unions.
Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Organizational Alignment
Partner with the Chief Marketing & Experience Officer (CMXO) to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals and stakeholder needs
Lead cross‑functional marketing initiatives that support donor engagement, program participation, event promotion, brand awareness and industry perception
Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to internal teams, ensuring marketing efforts are integrated across departments
Measurement & Reporting
Establish marketing KPIs and track ROI across marketing initiatives
Conduct regular performance reporting and campaign debriefs; analyze data into meaningful insights that inform future strategies
Lead brand awareness survey; analyze results to guide strategic planning
Content & Campaign Management
Control content strategy, roadmap and calendar that centers stakeholder experience and drives engagement across digital and traditional channels
Establish strategic direction and oversee distribution of content across blog, podcast, social media, website, email, PR, print, events, and emerging platforms
Direct campaign strategy and execution, including segmentation, messaging, creative development, and performance tracking
Digital Marketing & Technology
Define the marketing technology strategy to ensure seamless integrations across mar‑tech stack that enable data‑informed decisions and enhance experience
Drive innovation in marketing technology and automation to improve efficiency, segmentation and personalization
Analyze SEO, analytics, and digital performance to inform strategy and optimize campaigns
Media Relations & Brand Reputation
Own relationships with media contacts; drive earned media outreach and opportunities
Curate media coverage and social engagement to assess brand sentiment and identify opportunities
Serve as a brand ambassador and spokesperson
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field is required; master’s degree preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in marketing role with five or more years in leadership capacity
Experience in credit union, mission‑driven or nonprofit environment preferred
Proven success in digital marketing, content strategy, and campaign execution
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Experience with brand strategy and positioning
Experience with fundraising or donor engagement marketing
Experience evaluating and managing marketing technology platforms and procuring vendor relationships
Passion for the credit union movement and cooperative values
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Strong project management and organizational skills
Able to work effectively and independently in a remote environment
Ability to travel up to 25 days per year.
