The Role : The Live Service Design Director will be responsible for both live service tuning and quality of life improvements, specializing in engagement and retention based on both telemetry and player sentiment. This role will set the standard of quality for the live service deliverables for our players. The Design Director will report to the Design Line Director. You will be hybrid or onsite in the Vancouver - Great Northern Way studio.
What You'll Do:
Prioritize the needs of feature development, live service quality of life improvements, and critical issues with seasonal stakeholders and craft leadership
Ensure feature designs around player engagement and all requirements meet quality targets and are aligned with seasonal themes
Evaluate data and player sentiment, and align with team members to identify tuning and balance improvements
Inspire and mentor designers on the team in the pursuit of creative designs implemented to the highest quality
Provide and solicit feedback from all stakeholders and team members in a graceful, constructive manner, with suggestions and solutions for improvement to both process and project
Be accountable for the project quality targets and the results achieved
What We Are Looking For:
5+ years of experience leading game teams and defining design direction in a live service environment
Understanding of mass-market appeal and the ability to innovate within it
Pay Transparency - North America
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
