HDR currently has an opening for a Site Civil EIT/Designer with the technical skills and desire to help support our nationally recognized Building Engineering Services Group. This position is based out of our Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC office.

In the role of Site Civil EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to:

Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation

Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage

Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures

Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables

Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects

Work independently on small projects, or assist more senior engineers on larger projects

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.

Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required

Experience in site development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control) is preferred

Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
