Responsibilities
Support BIW (Body-in-White) design activities, including CAD modeling, drawing updates, and release documentation Assist senior engineers in day‑to‑day engineering tasks related to Upperbody Complete components Participate in design reviews and help track actions, issues, and follow‑ups Collaborate with Manufacturing and CAE teams (Durability, Safety, NVH) to understand analysis results and support design updates Support tooling and assembly readiness activities prior to Tool Kick‑Off Attend supplier meetings alongside release engineers and assist with APQP documentation and technical follow‑ups Help gather data for cost rollups and support cost optimization initiatives with suppliers Contribute to program milestone preparation by ensuring assigned deliverables are completed on time Document engineering changes, risks, and issues, and communicate them to the project team Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) 0–3 years of experience or internship/co‑op exposure in automotive BIW engineering, design, or manufacturing Basic knowledge of CAD and PLM tools (CATIA V5, NX, Teamcenter or similar) Foundational understanding of GD&T and BIW manufacturing processes Willingness to learn DVP&R, DFMEA, and automotive release processes Strong problem‑solving skills with good communication and teamwork abilities Organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment Nice to Have
Internship or project experience with automotive OEMs or Tier‑1 suppliers Exposure to stamping, welding, or sealing processes Interest in cost awareness and supplier collaboration
