Job Overview Deck Remodelers.com is seeking a full-time, in-house Licensed Project Architect to join our innovative and award-winning residential design-build team. You will play a critical leadership role in shaping structurally sound, beautifully crafted outdoor living environments. From decks and pergolas to integrated outdoor kitchens, retaining walls, sitework, hardscapes, spas and more, your architectural input will bring high-end concepts to life. This is a rare opportunity to work in-house, not as a contractor, on projects that push creative and technical boundaries in residential construction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the architectural design and technical oversight of residential outdoor living projects.

Stamp, sign, and approve construction documents (NJ licensure required).

Interpret and apply residential building codes and zoning regulations.

Collaborate with local building departments and zoning officials to secure permits.

Coordinate with internal design and construction teams to ensure plans align with field execution.

Review project renderings, animations, and technical documents for accuracy and constructability.

Evaluate zoning challenges and develop creative, compliant design solutions.

Manage multiple concurrent projects and meet internal deadlines.

Provide expert guidance on structural systems, materials, and site integration.

Qualifications

Licensed Architect in New Jersey (strong preference for additional licensure or reciprocity in NY, CT, or PA).

3+ years of experience in residential architecture or construction.

Strong knowledge of structural systems for decks, outdoor living, or light-framed construction (residential construction).

Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and approving architectural plans.

Thorough understanding of residential building codes, site grading, and zoning processes.

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
