The European Commission is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Developer with strong expertise in
Angular
and
User Interface (UI)
development. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of critical applications that support various functions within the European Commission. This role requires a deep understanding of Java technologies, modern web frameworks, and
UI/UX best practices
to deliver robust, secure, and user-friendly applications.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Maintain Applications:
Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications using Angular for front-end development. Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and meet the European Commission's quality standards.
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with project managers, analysts, and other developers to gather requirements and deliver solutions that align with the European Commission’s objectives.
UI/UX Development:
Implement and optimize user interfaces using Angular, ensuring an intuitive and seamless user experience. Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs into responsive, accessible, and high-performance web applications.
Code Review and Optimization:
Conduct code reviews, identify potential bottlenecks, and optimize code for performance and security. Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Testing and Debugging:
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of applications. Work with QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in
Java development.
3+ years of experience in front-end development using
Angular (preferably Angular 8+).
Proven experience in developing complex,
user-friendly interfaces with a focus on UI/UX.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in
Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate .
Strong experience with
Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3,
and
modern JavaScript frameworks.
Knowledge of
RESTful API design
and
implementation.
Experience with version control systems such as
Git.
Familiarity with
DevOps practices
and
CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of
web security principles
and
data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in English (French or other European languages are a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working within EU institutions or similar governmental bodies.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
Familiarity with
Agile/Scrum methodologies.
