Job Summary Introba is seeking a Plumbing Designer for our St. Louis, MO location. The ideal person will mainly be responsible for designing accurate discipline‑specific drawings from the Senior Engineer/Senior Designer’s design. Must possess ability to design and prepare drawings and specifications for small to medium projects with limited guidance.

Responsibilities

Prepare drawings

Provide preliminary piping layouts, invert elevation calculations, and details.

Generate plans and coordinate with other trades.

Assist with site surveys to accurately document existing conditions.

Coordinate and communicate with mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, and civil trades.

Equipment layout and sizing.

Select equipment with direction from senior staff.

Provide fixture counts and calculations.

Review shop‑drawing submittals from contractors.

Inspect, review, and prepare site inspection reports.

Provide construction cost opinions.

Perform preliminary code, ordinance, local amendment, and building certification research and review to ensure design meets all applicable codes and safety standards.

Attend and support technical societies.

Qualifications

Associate’s or technical degree in Building Systems Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related accredited associate’s degree program field preferred.

CPDT – Certified Plumbing Design Technician preferred.

Goal to obtain CPD – Certified Plumbing Designer.

Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in facility design and construction.

Ability to design accurate plumbing‑specific drawings from the engineer / senior designer’s design.

Ability to provide accurate and clean drawings.

Conceptual knowledge of plumbing equipment and systems: domestic/lab water and waste/vent, specialty lab/medical gas and vacuum, natural gas, storm water, soft water, kitchen water/waste, and hot water/recirculation systems and equipment.

Ability to create basic riser diagrams/piping layouts and insert data into schedules from data sheets.

Ability to perform basic editing of project specifications.

Basic understanding of LEED criteria and LEED process.

Ability to assist in construction administration duties.

Ability to design and prepare specifications on small to medium scale projects.
