Social Content Producer

role at Night

About The Role We’re looking for a sharp, creative, and resourceful Social Content Producer to join our comedy podcast team. You’ll be at the center of crafting standout short‑form and social content that drives audience growth and reinforces the show’s brand and voice. You should live on the internet — fluent in memes, trends, and internet culture — with strong editing instincts, writing chops, and sharp comedic timing. In addition to content creation, you'll support interview prep, episode structuring, guest research, and post‑production, giving editing notes, helping shape flow and pacing, and keeping production timelines organized.

Key Responsibilities

Social Content Strategy & Production:

Develop and execute a cohesive social content strategy across YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok; ideate and produce social‑first content, including timely memes and trailers to trending moments; edit short‑form and highlight clips from podcast episodes that drive reach, engagement, and shareability.

Run of Show Development:

Collaborate to create and refine the Run of Show for podcast episodes; ensure each segment is purposeful, well‑paced, and flows naturally; support the host in shaping beats, callbacks, and structural rhythm across interviews.

Guest Research & Briefing:

Research each guest thoroughly to develop smart, funny, and original questions; create briefing materials that include bios, interview references, past appearances, and current projects; keep a pulse on what not to ask, tailoring interviews to avoid cliché or tired topics.

Information Diet & Current Events:

Curate a daily digest of culturally relevant news, viral moments, and niche internet trends; align research with upcoming guests and themes to spark timely and unexpected angles; feed the team stories before they hit the mainstream.

AI‑Enhanced Workflows:

Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, Descript) to streamline tasks—research, scripting, ideation, captioning, editing prep, etc.; experiment with new tools to stay at the forefront of creator production.

Vendor & Creative Liaising:

Coordinate with editors, designers, sound engineers, and other contractors to keep timelines and deliverables on track; own communication and organization between creative collaborators.

Editing Oversight & Feedback:

Review rough cuts of full episodes and social clips with an eye for pacing, clarity, and tonal consistency; provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback that improves the final product; experience with cutting shorts or TikTok‑style vertical edits is a strong plus.

Tone, Voice & Humor:

Bring a sharp, self‑aware, and irreverent sense of humor that fits the voice of the show; understand comedic timing, cultural nuance, and how to land a punchline visually or verbally; be comfortable pitching dumb ideas; some of the best bits start that way.

Qualifications

2‑4 years of experience in a content, media, or production role.

Experience in a podcast or YouTube environment.

Experience with editing tools (Premiere, Final Cut, or similar).

Strong writing and communication skills.

Up‑to‑date with social trends, creators, internet culture, and media.

Collaborative, curious, and confident enough to take initiative.

Calm under pressure and able to pivot when needed.

Bonus Points For…

Experience working in a creator‑led or talent‑driven environment.

A meme folder that’s better than ours.

Being chronically online.

Knowing how to make boring things funny—or weird things thoughtful.

Familiarity with scripting, storyboarding, or segment planning.
