Presentation Designer Job at Solomon Page in New York

Our client, a B2B communications agency in NYC, is looking for a freelance Presentation Designer for a 30‑hour/week remote contract for the month of January. This person will be responsible for creating visually compelling, highly structured presentations that clearly communicate complex ideas and elevate brand storytelling. This role requires deep expertise in PowerPoint and a strong design sensibility, with an emphasis on layout, typography, iconography, illustration, and data visualization rather than photography. The ideal candidate can translate strategic narratives into polished, on‑brand presentations, often working with limited visual assets and turning abstract concepts into clear, engaging visuals. This role partners closely with strategy, marketing, sales, and executive teams to produce high‑impact presentations for internal and external audiences.

• 30‑hour/week remote contract working with an EST‑based team from 1/5‑1/31.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build high‑quality presentations in PowerPoint that are visually engaging, clear, and strategically sound.
• Translate written content, concepts, and rough outlines into cohesive visual narratives.
• Create custom layouts, diagrams, charts, infographics, icons, and illustrative graphics when photography is limited or unavailable.
• Apply strong typographic hierarchy, color theory, and composition to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Ensure all presentations align with brand guidelines while pushing creative excellence within those standards.
• Develop and maintain PowerPoint templates, slide libraries, and design systems.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to understand objectives and adapt presentations for different audiences and use cases.
• Edit, refine, and elevate existing presentations to improve flow, clarity, and visual impact.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Prepare presentations for live delivery, virtual meetings, and executive‑level review.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Presentation Designer or Visual Designer with a strong PowerPoint focus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including master slides, templates, animations, and charting.
• Strong graphic design skills with an emphasis on layout, typography, illustration, and data visualization.
• Ability to create compelling visuals without relying on photography.
• Experience translating complex or abstract information into clear, visually engaging presentations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality and consistency.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in fast‑paced environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with brand guidelines and senior stakeholders.
• Portfolio demonstrating presentation design excellence and strong visual storytelling.
