Job Summary / Description
WEEK Television, Inc., the NBC and ABC affiliates in Peoria, Illinois, has an immediate opening for a full‑time videographer. Candidates should demonstrate strong video skills, creativity, and proficiency in non‑linear editing. The position will require training and testing to become a licensed drone pilot and operate the station’s drone camera. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. This role requires flexible scheduling as well.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit video of news events
- Use our news drone for creative video
- Work with reporters to shoot and edit video for news stories
- Manage and run live cameras
- Conduct interviews and calls to gather basic information
- Care for and manage assigned camera equipment
- Help log interviews and write short stories, as needed
- Assist in identifying potential news story ideas
Qualifications / Requirements
- Ability to shoot video using professional‑grade equipment
- Basic technical knowledge of professional camera equipment
- Familiarity with non‑linear editing systems (experience with Edius is a plus)
- Skilled in lighting for interviews
- Previous newsroom experience preferred
- Ability to work well with others
- Proven ability to manage high stress under tight deadlines
