Overview

We’re looking for a collaborative, curious, and highly organized Junior Music Producer to join our Production team. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about music in all its forms—original composition, licensing, and emerging audio trends—and eager to learn the ins and outs of producing world‑class music for advertising. As a Junior Music Producer, you’ll support Production and Creative team members across a wide range of projects, helping bring ideas to life for brands across film, digital, social, experiential, and beyond. The role is to assist in choosing and curating music, and acting as a liaison between the producers, creatives, and business affairs managers. The Junior Music Producer should be immersed in music trends, new bands, and the music community, with knowledge of all music genres a plus. They create and maintain strong relationships with record labels, music companies, licensing firms, and composers. They also foster relationships with the agency’s creative and production teams and work in tandem with business affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Attend creative briefings as needed to stay informed of projects and initiate music search activities.
  • Review and confirm client usage specifications and budget parameters in collaboration with the Business Affairs team.
  • Distribute music briefs to appropriate record labels and music publishers, outlining client’s specifications and budget in partnership with Business Affairs.
  • Review incoming music pitches and curate the best tracks that best align with the brief.
  • Share selected music list with the producer and creative team for review and picture alignment.
  • Send chosen songs to the Junior Music Producer and Business Affairs to review, confirm, and further negotiate with master/publisher.

MEDIUMS FOR MUSIC

TV, Radio, Web, Industrial Videos (client meetings, content for trade events/other public assembly), PR, Agency Self Promotion (showcases, new business pitches), new media (apps/downloads), Experiential.

Additional

  • Help manage and facilitate original music scores as needed.
  • Manage and maintain the list of all outside music vendors to share with the team.
  • Source, coordinate, and secure musical talent for agency events and other needs as required.
  • Create musical experiences at the agency (work‑areas, etc.).
  • Facilitate purchase orders and manage new vendor set‑up documentation.
  • Handle music‑rights clearances when applicable.
  • Attend music luncheons, industry panels, songwriting camps, and music industry conferences.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years working in the music space (promoter, label, music production company or licensing firm).
  • Understanding of music licensing models.
  • Understanding of original music production processes.
  • Existing relationships with labels, supervisors, licensing firms, etc.
  • Proven success in building strong relationships with creatives & producers, quickly earning trust.
