KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking a dynamic News Anchor / Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our team! In addition to being an outstanding journalist with a great personality, you need to be a team leader. Our anchors are leaders who participate in the planning of our shows and produce content regularly. A competitive passion to win and openness to innovation is mandatory! Our winning candidate will be someone who embraces social media and knows how to consistently engage with the audience. Collaboration is a big part of this role!
The ideal candidate will have:
- Sharp news judgment
- The ability to tell an NPPA style story
- Excellent technical skills
- The ability to work well independently
- Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record
- Strong Leadership skills
- Smooth/pleasant delivery
- Ability to adlib in absence of script
- Strong writing skills and news judgment
- Strong researcher
- Ability to network and build sources
- Producing background is a plus, willingness to learn is a must
- Be an innovator who enjoys breaking the mold
- Embraces new technology to tell stories
- Exemplary communication skills
Requirements and Qualifications:
- You must have at least 2 years of on‑air experience
- Experience with Live‑U is a plus
- Live commercial television experience is a must
- Strong "in‑the‑field and live" skills is required
- Exceptional written communications skills using a conversational writing style
- Strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation
