Job Overview
The Department of Art invites applications for a part‑time, non‑benefited lecturer to teach a 300‑level Stop Motion Animation course for the Spring 2026 semester.
Responsibilities
- Teach a 300‑level Stop Motion Animation course to undergraduates and possibly graduate students.
- Develop and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and short exercises.
- Plan and conduct in‑progress and final critiques, historical and contemporary screenings, and self‑assessments.
- Provide timely feedback and support for student projects.
Qualifications
- MFA in Art or equivalent terminal degree required at the time of hire.
- Teaching experience in a related field, with emphasis on stop‑motion animation, storytelling, and fabrication.
- Strong background in object animation, 2D cut‑out, and 3D armature animation.
- Proficiency in Dragon Frame, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects.
- Knowledge of visual development and set fabrication is highly encouraged.
Course Schedule
The course will be taught in‑person on Mondays & Wednesdays from 4:45 pm to 7:25 pm. Classes begin January 29, 2026, and conclude May 8, 2026.
Compensation
Salary: $8,195 (non‑benefited).
