Blizzard Entertainment seeks a talented Animation Editor for the Creative Development’s Animation Editorial team. The role supports the entire creative pipeline, from worldwide reveal trailers to in‑game content, creating short films and cinematic experiences that support all our game franchises.

The position is a 10‑month temporary role and is anticipated to be a hybrid work position (some on‑site, some work‑from‑home). It is located in Irvine, CA, with the potential for remote work arrangements.

Responsibilities

Priorities can often change in a fast‑paced environment, so the role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Provide creative editorial for a wide range of animated projects, working with storyboards, animation, music, and sound effects to create engaging, informative, and story‑driven works that support our IPs.
  • Operate with varying degrees of supervision, taking ownership where needed while remaining flexible to collaboration and iteration.
  • Facilitate content reviews with stakeholders and implement director notes.
  • Ingest, organize, and update footage, music, and sound effects from our library; locate archival assets required to support assignment objectives.
  • Generate reviewable files and outputs for sound and work closely with the assistant for processing and delivery of final projects.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years professional editorial history, with experience in animation.
  • Experience interfacing with departments and artists outside post‑production (e.g., Sound, Storyboarding, Writing).

Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Good sense of timing, pacing, sound design, and controlling story flow through editing—including a demonstrable understanding of good composition, screen direction, and continuity.
  • Knowledge of current post‑production industry‑standard workflows and archival organization.
  • Familiarity with gaming culture and interest in video games.
  • Familiarity with Blizzard’s game worlds and its stories.
  • Highly self‑motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and quick turnover while collaborating on multiple projects.
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.

Extra Points

  • Familiarity with advanced video compression techniques and associated software packages.
  • Compositing and 2D effects (Adobe After Effects).
  • Animation/3D Title Creation/Storyboarding or other related skill.

Eligibility to participate in these benefits may vary for part‑time and temporary full‑time employees and interns with the Company.

Base pay range: $29.81–$55.14 per hour. Incentive compensation may be eligible, but is not guaranteed. Compensation is negotiable based on experience, performance and location.
