Save Job

We are now looking for a highly organized and creatively attuned Art Photo Producer to manage the end‑to‑end production of photography projects across a range of integrated campaigns. The role requires deep knowledge in photo production workflows—from early concept development right through to final asset delivery—and, besides, the ability to work seamlessly with multiple stakeholders that include the lead creative agency, internal creative teams, brand management, and West Coast‑based production partners.

Overview of the Role

The full lifecycle of still photography projects is owned by the Art Photo Producer, ensuring that every execution aligns with creative intent, brand standards, regulatory requirements, and production realities. The producer will be the operational and logistical anchor for each assignment, balancing creative ambition with budgetary discipline, technical oversight, and a sharp eye for quality.

This individual must work fluently across ideation, pre‑production, on‑set execution, postproduction, and shipping, commanding constant visibility into timelines, deliverables, and resource needs. They will also oversee the integration of brand‑safe generative production: ensuring that creative uses of AI imagery adhere to the client, agency, and legal guidelines.

Given the West Coast focus of all productions, the producer will be required to maintain strong vendor relationships across Los Angeles and the broader region, leveraging existing partnerships and regional expertise to scale production efficiently. In many cases, this role will be responsible for piggybacking off the lead agency’s production budgets, coordinating shared resources, or—when appropriate—standing up and managing separate breakout budgets and vendor tracks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with creatives from the very early ideation phase to determine the feasibility, outline production methodologies, and list resources required.
  • Translating creative concepts into actionable production plans, mood boards, shot lists, schedules, and technical requirements.
  • Ensure all AI or generative image creation is vetted for brand safety, legal compliance, and consistency with the campaign aesthetic.
  • Synchronize schedules, milestones, and cross‑agency dependencies with the production team of the lead agency.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive budgets, advising on cost‑effective solutions without compromising creative integrity.

Production Management

  • Lead all aspects of on‑set execution for West Coast and Los Angeles shoots, including studio, on‑location, and hybrid AI‑enhanced productions.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendors: photographers, studios, stylists, props, casting, and retouching partners as well as generative content vendors.
  • Assess piggyback opportunities with the lead agency: decide when it will be strategically advantageous to share resources or spin out a separate production track.
  • Ensure that high standards of craft and execution are maintained, and that the set operates efficiently and safely, in conformance with the approved creative plan.
  • Oversee the review, retouching, color management, and finishing process to ensure visual consistency and adherence to creative goals.
  • Oversee the integration of traditionally shot assets with AI‑generated or enhanced imagery, ensuring seamless blending and aesthetic cohesion.
  • Manage and track feedback rounds with creative, account, and client teams to meet the delivery timelines.
  • Prepare final files for multichannel usage: digital, social, print, OOH, and campaign toolkits.

Budget, Operations & Vendor Relations

  • Provide accurate estimates, manage cost reporting, and ensure appropriate financial transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with West Coast‑based vendors, freelance talent, studios, and specialty partners.
  • Assess vendor capabilities on both traditional and generative workflows, keeping an approved roster with strengths, rates, and performance history.
  • Ensure that all contracts, usage agreements, insurance requirements, and talent releases meet the standards of both the agency and client.

Delivery, QA & Archival

  • Oversee all final asset packaging and shipping, ensuring that files meet the required specs across markets and formats.
  • Oversee naming, metadata, and archiving for assets in concert with the internal operations teams.
  • Ensure seamless handoffs to downstream partners, which could be retouching houses, integrated producers, or campaign toolkit managers.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in still photography production within an agency, studio, or brand environment of 6–10+ years.
  • Proven ability to lead complex West Coast‑based productions involving multiple workstreams and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with managing budgets in all sizes, including shared and breakout financial structures.
  • Hands‑on experience in AI‑assisted or generative image development, with deep knowledge in brand safety and IP considerations.
  • Strong vendor network throughout Los Angeles and the West Coast.
  • Proven capacity to operate with clarity, diplomacy, and decisiveness in fast‑moving environments.
